Title: Spirit fired Royal Scot
Post by: MikeWilliams on Aug 16 2019 09:25
An original (unrebuilt) Scot on ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-1-2-Gauge-Royal-Scot-4-6-0-Spirit-Fired-Live-steam-locomotive/383105382331?hash=item5932dc37bb:g:ziEAAOSwDH1dSHX4

Looks nice enough.  Not sure what type of boiler that is?  And the eccentric on the front axle doesn't seem to do anything?

But cheap.

Mike

The wheelbase on the tender looks "suspect" ...... should be equal 78ins+78ins but doesn't look to be equal.
Makes quality of engineering questionable?
Hasn't been steamed........ or perhaps wouldn't run!
Vendor is some kind of "general dealer" judging by other items being offered.
As Mike says, it is reasonably priced when compared with some of the ridiculous prices quoted on Ebay.

John.

No bids at £900 so unsold.
