GRS Y6 tram loco and Revolution RC

I've fitted my GRS Y6 tram loco with the Revolution RC. It runs fine, but when I added a peter Spoerer sound card, it blew the card. While investigating this, I've found the chip on the receiver gets quite hot when the loco is running on a rolling road.
Has anyone else had issues with these motor blocks?

Geoff,
When you say a "Peter Spoerer" sound card, do you in fact mean a "MyLocoSound"  card?
If so, then Peter Lucas ("Moonraker" of this forum) will be able to advise you (since he designs/manufactures them).
