Post by: midnight miller on Dec 15 2013 22:09
Hello All

Dose any one shunt and get buffer locking when propelling ? On either an indoor layout or an all weather garden line and if you do would you make contact please .

Yes I suffer buffer lock in 00 and g3. The buffers on my 00 stock are all the same from blacksmiths models. The idea is that all the wagons that I use are of similar size and wheelbase which helps to reduce the risk of buffer lock. The other issue is to make sure the buffer height is uniform as differing heights greatly reduces the effectiveness of the buffers.

Hi John
Is this the gizmo which will be the answer to a G3er's prayer?

If so are you able to share a glimpse or is it under wraps?

My awkward moments with buffer locking is basically on deceleration.
At speed the regulator is shut off & an errant vehicle tries to climb onto the vehicle in front.

tell us more.

Dave,

Would your problem be reduced if the vehicles were heavier?  Lead glued underneath?  I know that means more pressure under breaking, but it also means more energy required to lift them up.  Certainly seems to work in smaller scales, but then a steamer can stop pretty suddenly.

Mike

I think you are probably correct. Problem is that my own rolling stock is mixed, but other's stock at GTG's is a further unknown quantity & it is a case of being sensitive to this phenomenon, when all in same consist.

Am considering buckeyes on all bogie coaches.

Hello All
Let's play with it and see if it works first . If it works the society can have it as a lost wax casting if they want , if not I will do it my self . It is simple , its got to be coming from me .
