Interesting that they refer to it as a "Gauge 3" loco; I wonder how many auctioneers are familiar with the term "Gauge 3", and it does occur to me that they might inadvertently be referring to a 3 1/2" gauge engine - so just a note of caution.  Please disregard, with my apologies, if you have already established with certainty that this is a 2 1/2" gauge/gauge 3 loco.

Good point Ben!

Bearing in mind they did not know the class of loco. and (in photo.) the tender is "back-to-front", one has to doubt their competence on railway matters.

The message came to me via the Secretary of G3S and I have not carried out any checks.
