Title: Kingscale BR 80XXX
Post by: IanT on Nov 01 2016 16:03
Noticed an ad for this engine in Garden Rail this month and I don't think I've seen it mentioned before now, although I'm sure some here will have been aware of it.

Looks a very nice engine at what seems to be a competitive RTR price. Kingscale are not quite the G3 'Aster' yet but this is their third (?) 2.5" engine and that can only be good news for Gauge 3.

Ah - forgot the Coronation - so I guess this is the fourth one.

Saw the prototype a couple of weeks back

V nice indeed - but some changes to be made, for example the curved underside of the side tanks.

Overall, looks excellent value for money but (sadly) unlikely to be a coal fired version I'm told

Should be a winner of they get quality control sorted out. Personally I will never purchase from them again.

I agree that the Brighton tank engine does look very good indeed.

If I could be certain that Mr. Bulleid's addition of curves to the undersides of the tanks will be present, and that it would run well straight from the box with no hassle or issues, I would order one.
