Title: Have Mike May's carriages resurfaced?
Post by: Traininvain on Feb 16 2010 12:46
Bunch of LNWR carriages similar to ones Mike May sold at Auction now for sale on eBay – see: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/meteorrot/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

Must surely be the same ones, but at almost ten times the price.  I'm sure they must have cost Mike that much new, but he'll never get that for them . . . surely?

I guess there's a lesson here somewhere.  Mike received a low price at auction.  Modellers didn't benefit from the original sale (not sure why they didn't bid).  Dealer makes a lot of money.  I guess we may not see them running here again.  We all lose except the dealer.  Shame.

Mike

Thought they looked familiar - but really silly prices, even for something so nice.
