There have been calls for coach bogies to be made available, on the basis that not many are offered by the trade. These are the ones I know of, but can anyone add to the list or comment on their experiences of using them?
GRS LSWR.

Cast whitemetal sideframes only. £5.70, but waiting to hear whether that is each, or per pair, and whether they have any plans for a (maybe etched?) structure to go with them.
Gauge 3 Society structural steel sideframes only. Temporarily withdrawn from sale.
Is that all, or can anyone add to the list?

If it helps Ralph, I've got a pair of bogies (e.g. 4 sides) you can have for your project. They are in drawer marked "Future Projects".

The Walsall Model Industries' bogie sideframes are £5.70 each. Very nice patterns, cast in whitemetal. Heavy (just where you want weight) and reasonably robust. Quite similar to LBSC designs, or so I have been told.

Would anyone be interested in accurate LMS 9ft carriage bogies. They would feature 1.4mm laser cut steel frames and bolster but would require castings for the axleboxes, hornguides and possibly the leaf springs and dampers. The axleboxes would be sprung via single coil springs, with the leaf springs cosmetic. I have a rake of carriages which could do with a bogie upgrade and will probably proceed with this anyway, but I'd like to see if there may be others interested in using any castings suitable for use with the laser cut bogie frames.
Will the Society ones be available again? As I also need some at some point in the future...

Yes, they already are Hornbeam (I saw a whole box of them yesterday).
They are same basic design as before (laser-cut mild steel etc) but the second batch have been done for an 8' 6" wheelbase bogie.
You still need to "dress" the outside faces with whatever external detail you require but they provide a very strong frame and a good starting point - as well as being affordable.

Don't hold me to it - but the previous ones were 5.00 GBP for a set of four sides (e.g. for two bogies)
Dave "The Shop" will have to confirm - but I'd guess they will be of that order.

As a new member have only just seen Traininvain October post on LMS 9ft bogies. Were these progressed? I am just starting to look at construction of 57ft non-corridor stock. Already following one lead on LMS bogies but I am only at the start of the learning curve. All relevant info welcome.
