Don't know if anyone's noticed but there's a guy on eBay called hiddentreasuresfromdevon who keeps advertising one of the G3 Prairies of the type originally sold by GRS but this one being part of a batch Bachmann bought in from San Cheng in China. Point is that Mr hiddentreasuresfromdevon can't seem to make his mind up and keeps withdrawing it from sale.
Just for the record I tried to cut a deal with him last month for one he had advertised at £1,395 or best offer. I told him that they're available at around half that price but he said that he'd paid nearly that much to buy it in the first place. I think Bachmann we're charging £1,495 when they first promoted them a couple of year's back..
Strikes me that a lot of people out there are taking the view that G3 is gaining in popularity a little too far and think we're good for a fast buck and prepared to pay silly prices. Then again, judging by some of the prices paid on eBay, maybe some people are! The continental European trader who bought mike May's stuff and tried to sell it at a vast profit on eBay some months back springs to mind.
