Title: "Gwen Elms"

Not personally sure that I would convert it to a 4-6-2 as suggested by the seller... But could be the basis for a 4-6-4 tank or a NYC Hudson?

Usual eBay caveats - but the price currently is very worthwhile, if only for the castings - assuming they are OK and have not been jiggered by the first would-be builder. Hard to tell from the photos.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a "Gwen Elms" at a GTG. I've just checked the Association's old site to see if they do reprint of the original English Mechanics article. Whilst they do not appear to do so, they do state that Gwen Elm reprints are avaialbe from TEE Publishing (at the Fosse). So the 'Words & Music' are there if you need them for the original design...

As Ralph says, I'm sure you could use this as the basis for something "less LBSC" and more prototypical. A small word of warning though. It may well be that it was originally scaled (by LBSC) at 1/2", so the drivers etc may be a little small for a 13.5mm Express engine. However, even so (at current pricing) there could still be some useful bits there for an engine - live steam or electric.
