Title: HD Video of G3 Garden Lines
Post by: Ted Sadler on May 24 2011 07:45
The Society's video collection of garden lines, shown at exhibitions and on sale, is a great memento of past events. However, I noticed at the recent ALSRM show at Reading that it is beginning to show its age when displayed on a TV monitor in comparison with some displays on other stands. The picture quality is as good as you could get using the camera technology of 10 years ago, but are not as sharp as more modern offerings.

I see at some of our get-togethers that certain people are now sporting high-definition (HD) video cameras. If you have some good-looking, crisp footage that you'd like to contribute to a new collection, please let me know. (email secretary@gauge3.org.uk). I'll see how much material we can put together for a new collection, but don't expect results before next year. That means you've got all this year's GTG's to keep filming!

I was pleased to see our youngest member, using his own initiative, mount a small camera on a truck at the Chalfont GTG recently and film a driver's eye view of a complete circuit of Roger's highly scenic line. Can't wait to see it!

Thanks. Ted
