with great thanks to Ted, who has acted as compositor on this edition, we hope to have another fairly punctual dispatch of your June issue. as per spring issue, we have been able to increase your reading from 48 pages to 56, thanks to all those who have sent contributions and i look forward to seeing them in print. 56 pages!  I'm impressed, for a small society that really is a great achievement.  Do you hope to keep that up in the future or this a special for the anniversary?

it's partly due to anniversary year, although such articles have been limited in numbers.
there is a cost for the printing of extra pages, from 48 in incriments of 4 pages, so it's either 52 or then 56 pages, but they do imply extra costs, but that's up to the commitee to approve .
of course the goodwill of traders (such as yourself) helps balance the books.
we have a new trader advert in this forthcoming edition and i hope they will get new custom and repeat their advert too.
any larger than 56 pages and the weight goes into the next level of postage which is a very large increase per year .
lets just hope the material is their for keeping a larger number of pages. it's a difficult one, with 48 as a default, you have scope for special events/a.g.m's etc, where as if we get used to 56 and then some extra or time specific items have to go it, there may be nnoe room left, or a great shame to have to then remove a planned article to make way.

AshleyW

it'll actually be 52 pages this time, but autumn and winter should have 56 pages. it's getting printed today as i type, so lockdown post permitting, won't be too long till you have your copy. ash
