Three 2.5" Gauge live steam locos at forthcoming auction

I see that the next Transport Sale at Dreweatts (23 September) has three 2.5" gauge live steam locos in the catalogue.
These may be of interest to G3 drivers. Take a look at:

Hmm, all three look interesting.  The 0-8-0 is known to G3-ers and will be interesting to see what it fetches - the buyer I assume will buy 50 of my LNWR wagon kits to go wth it!

The Super D was featured on the front cover of the current G3 Society Newsletter.

It was originally built for Mike May, but the builder had v little G3 experience (he has built many G1 engines and some of a larger scale) and the model had numerous problems, one of the lesser ones being that it had a G1 sized fire hole. Since originally built it's been 'dealt with' by a number of top notch model engineers including Mike Pavie.

It does appear to steam very well now though and if it sold at the top end of the guide price it would be a bargain – and make 50 of Mr Williams' excellent wagons the minimum requirement (assuming it can pull them!)!

The King looks superb and, by the look of it, would also be a bargain at the top end of its guide price. Having said that though, the rear cab window doesn't look quite right.

The other loco - a version of a Jubilee by the look of it - looks nice too but is not an accurate rendition of the prototype. Also, it only has 2 cylinders. But it does look nicely built.

If anyone on this forum buys any of them (especially the King) please let me have a full write up plus top quality pix.

Just for the record, it looks like the LNWR 0-8-0 sold for £1500, the GWR King for £3200 and the LMS 4-6-0 £1600.
