Wow, never seen one of those before.  Anybody else seen one?  It looks very good for a Bing, and presumably a relatively late model for Bing too.  Anyone know whether it is all Bing or maybe scratch built with a Bing mech?

Too expensive for me, alas.

(must start making kits for L&Y wagons - the purchaser of that will need a few dozen!)

Also just noticed that it has Joy valvegear - and the full version rather than Greenly modified type.  I wasn't aware that Bing ever made models with that gear.  I guess it could be a special order, but I've never heard of Bing doing that either - did they?

Looks like it has sold.  Hope it was to a G3S member who might tell us more about it.

A friend and well known Gauge 3 Society member has found some history of this model, including the name of a previous owner.  He has also confirmed that it is not Bing, but Carson, appearing in their 1911 catalogue where they claim it to be capable of pulling an approx 40 ft mixed stock rake.

So I can perhaps expect an order for 50 or so wagon kits?  If so I'd happily make an L&Y goods brake van specially!

P.S. I think the member should be less shy and put together an article on this locomotive for the Newsletter - I know he'll read this!
