My new loco: a GRS 4F
« on: May 11, 2017, 07:49:52 pm »
A couple of photos of my retirement present to myself, which I picked up at Reading. It's a GRS 4F built for me by Tim Breeze. he's made a marvelous job of it, I only need to add a crew.
The photos show the loco on my layout. I'm trying to build it as a generic exhibition layout, which can represent  early, pre-grouping, or BR days by changing the buildings rolling stock and figures. My chief interest is East Anglia,  so the layout has a wooden wharf frontage. This is also removable and I have done the woodwork for a narrow canal, hence the Buxton number for the 4F.
Like my other layout, Lea Siding, this layout is designed to fit in the back of a car for transport, but I'm hoping to operate it to a timetable, with a passenger service.

Congratulations Geoff.  You are gathering quite a collection of nice models and your railways are a great advert for Gauge 3.
