1361 battery pack
« on: October 29, 2017, 04:58:35 pm »
Evening,

I’m in the final stages of re-building a GRS 1361 tank and will be fitting with a train engineer receiver. I’m wondering what battery packs have others used and how have you laid out the RC as there isn’t a huge amount of space,

Thanks

Simon.

Hi

I used twelve cells in mine in two circular stacks of 6 which are connected but nit sealed as one to bend though square whole in base of boiler. I then put revo between frames behind the cylinder and then the sound card in the bunker with switch and charge socket. The speaker is in smoke box.. Fiddly but doe able...

Happy to help.. I have pics somewhere.. It was running on Warton Road at Leeds at the weekend

Hi Keith

do you know if anyone took any pix of Warton Road at Leeds which I could use for the G3 Newsletter?

Simon,
Of possible interest are the NiMH AA cells I noted at IKEA the other day.  They are about 2400 mAh and only about a fiver for pack of four.  They are not tagged cells of course, so you would need holders.
