The afternoon vans from Monkton Priors roll across the viaduct under a clear blue sky, sometime in the late 1930s.

The entire train must have been fresh from works since everything is spotless!

Next Friday (weather permitting) there is going to be a "blitz" (organised by Mark Thatcher) on the garden to get the track cleared of detritus and, hopefully, some progress will be made with the pneumatics for the pointwork.

If all goes to plan (and we all know the old adage about "the best laid plans of mice and men") then a test running session will be on the cards for later in the Summer.

J39 No.1965 swings off the connecting spur from the Cheshire Lines and onto the GWR with a freight transfer trip working and is seen crossing above the mainline from which it has climbed.

P.S. High Summer is upon us....where are the colourful photos from other lines? Dust off those cameras and start shooting!
