The Great Eastern Railway diagram 15 van of 16 ft 1ins length (over headstocks) was introduced in 1888 and superseded a 15 ft van of similar appearance.

1,990 vans to this diagram were built between 1888 and 1903 in both ventilated and non-ventilated versions and some were fitted with vacuum brakes for working in express goods trains. The GER was an early user of iron and steel for underframe construction and this ensured a long and useful life, with vans of this type remaining in revenue-earning service with the LNER until the late 1930s, many serving much longer as departmental and internal user vans with several still surviving in preservation.

The kit contains the parts required to build a non-AVB fitted van in either ventilated or non-ventilated form.

Do the wheels still come with it?

I find they do usually work better with wheels!   :-)
