In case you thought the buffer stop project had been quietly forgotten, I can assure you it is alive and well.

John Witts prepared a pre-production sample last year but struggled to find a manufacturer willing to produce a small batch at an acceptable price.

We may now have found a solution by looking overseas for a specialist manufacturer of garden railway equipment.
There are still a few hurdles to cross before the matter is taken further but the price barrier has been broken.
It appears possible that a kit for self-assembly could be available for no more than 40GBP (possibly less but it depends upon exchange rate fluctuations, import duty and international shipping costs).

If this proceeds, the initial order would be for a minimum 30 units but we need to know there is a market for these items before any firm commitment to production.

The pre-production sample is illustrated below.
If you are interested in purchasing one or more, please email stops@gauge3.org.uk?subject=Buffer_Stops
The factory lead time is around four months from placing of the order.
My fellow Members, ask not what your Society can do for you, ask what you can do for your Society.
