Ashley - interesting walk-round. I should have shown you mine. I had the gas-tank filler leak problem and got a replacement valve from Kingscale. I also had to get replacement nuts and re-connect the driven water pump - an extremely fiddly job. However, my remaining problem - that you did not address - I always have a bubble in the water gauge and can never tell how much water is in the boiler. Consequently, I usually end up with water coming out of the boiler safety valve from my over-filling. Also, my safety valve relieves at 40psi and I wouldn't dream of adjusting it up.
The video is on my old track before I removed the hedge and created just an oval in my side garden.

i know of one kingscale owner who had his loco supplied with the safety valve screwed down hard, so they don't all come set up ! the manual states operating pressure at 75 p.s.i, so that ought to be the max they blow off at. but 40 p.s.i may mean a lot of steam wasted, so the water will be used a lot quicker too. will happily check over the next time we are able to meet, after 29th fingers crossed.

made from some scrap ply and a couple of foam blocks to hold at correct level. 3.5" gauge coal, smashed up .p.v.a to bond and heatproof stove paint on top
some better images now the weather is improved

I got it wrong earlier. My boiler relieves at 60psi on the gauge. However, the gauge is very small and not calibrated. Therefore, it cannot be taken as accurate. It also seems odd that the gauge scale numbers are in increments of 30 psi.
it should perform admirably at 60 p.s.i, so no need to mess.
