Post by: yamie1900 on Nov 03 2025 16:03
Hi John. after talking to you at the AGM I bought my self a Bambulabs P1s and in the process of printing some of the files for LNWR brake van so far so good my question is what w irons to use

Hello Dave,

Attached are a couple of photos of underside which may help but the brake rigging does get in the way of the view of the suspension.

The outer axles are mounted on Mike's steel W-irons (and are not sprung) while centre axle uses the springing arrangement (with inside bearings) as provided in the 3D file pack. Alternative might be to use Walsall's etched brass  compensated units on outer axles, if you prefer, but at the prototypical scale speeds of non-fitted goods trains that should not be necessary (unless the trackwork is particularly poor).

Regards,
John.
