Title: LBSCR D1

I do like a tank engine, here is the latest to add to the collection a Stroudley LBSCR D1, which is a larger version of a Terrier.

Whilst 3D printing is useful for more complex shapes and multiples, it is satisfying to use traditional ways to build locos. The engine was built using a CNC milling machine, the wheels were cut from 8mmm ali plate, frames 1.5mm steel and brass for the body. Powered by a home brewed motor /gearbox with nylon bevel gears.

The D1 has emerged from the paint shop and looking rather splendid.

A lovely model ... deserves to be put in a glass cabinet .... too good to risk running!!

Almost (not quite) could convert me to modelling the LBSC!
