I am surprised that John's buffer stop blocks (available in either stainless steel or brass) have received so little mention.
After years without a "proper" stop block being available, these deserve a close look.

Based upon a common British pattern, they have been meticulously designed and the result is a really sturdy structure, with all the detail present.
The rails have been precision cut and drilled and are assembled with "scale-sized" nuts and bolts.

They are available in both kit and ready-assembled form, from either brass or steel rail.
The price differential is minimal and the premium for the assembled version is modest and worth it so far as I am concerned.

I bought seven ready-assembled, stainless steel, examples at the AGM and am absolutely delighted with them....and those who have read some of my product reviews will know I am not easily pleased!

So, if you don't already have one....or more....I suggest you get them before they are no longer available.

I totally agree John, they are excellent. I've painted mine black with red cross members; they look great out on the layout. Incidentally, there are picture of similar structures in a Midland Railway yard in Birmingham; the picture is pre-war maybe even pre-grouping.

Jon,

I imagine his original batch will have been sold by now (I took 7 in steel) but he may have ordered a second batch.
Suggest you email him at john_witts@btinternet.com or phone him (number in membership list).

If he has none, then Mike (Williams Models) has a very nice cast brass buffer stop of a different pattern.

Regards,
John.

P.S.With all these "John's" and a "Jon" it can get a trifle confusing (not to mention that, to complicate matters further,  we now have two Mike Williams as G3S members)!
