Who decided to paint a W&U tramcar in BLUE?!

I see GRS are offering (for £349) a Wisbech & Upwell bogie tramcar (there were two in reality, Nos.7 and 8 ) but they were never painted BLUE!

As built they were varnished timber, then from 1919 they were painted crimson (similar shade to MR red) and under LNER ownership were painted brown (teak colour).

If the GRS example actually sells for that price, I shall be tempted to finish my two examples (which have sat on a shelf unfinished for about 15 years) in the correct livery and offer them at same price!!

My fellow Members, ask not what your Society can do for you, ask what you can do for your Society.

Well someone reached into their pockets it seems! The kits were discontinued by the time I made the move to G3 unfortunately but if I can ever get my hands on one I promise not to paint it blue, did look smart though :P
