My GRS Manor with Kingscale coach and B set:

I have not mastered doing 2 things at once, so the video is not great. However, spot the derailment because of buffer-lock. The rear coach over-run on the curves at the end of my downward incline. Is there a simple solution to buffer-lock?

Joe,

Nice video.

It was the "B set" which suffered the buffer lock and this may have been because of the short buffers at the inner ends of the set. The E147 sets (which these are) were permanently coupled, so it can be easily resolved by replacing the screw couplings with a prototypical fixed coupling (I have a photo somewhere on my computer showing the coupling between these cars and will track it down). I am proposing to fit rigid couplings to the inner ends of my two B sets.

Here is the connection between E147 carriages.
