On offer, a really well-built gauge 3 (2 ½" gauge) BR Class 73 Electro Diesel locomotive.  I have spent some 3 years on and off building this model, its purpose was to move carriage stock around on my gauge 3 railway but I have now given up railways so it is available.

It has just been finished; the painting had waited quite a while to get started.  It is of totally steel construction from my own CAD drawings with laser cut parts and is to scale (17/32 – 13.5 mm to the foot).  The bogies each have powerful 7 pole motors and the model is controlled by a Micron 2.4GHz radio control set that is specially made for model locomotives.  It needs a 12 volt gel-cell charger to charge the batteries.

The buyer needs to purchase some door handles and screw couplings from Walsall Model Industries or similar, the holes are there for door handles and the slots are in the buffer beam for the couplings.  I have also made 2mm holes at each corner of the fronts to take the pipework if the buyer wished to make this up, it can be secured with a 2mm bolt and nut through the body.  I will also include in the purchase a couple of sets of air horns if the buyer wanted to fit them and some spare 7 pole motors (all brand new) as I bought some spares just in case.

The locomotive is heavy and powerful and comes complete with its own substantial wooden storage and carrying case.

The model can be collected in person from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire or can be shipped on a small pallet.  Please feel free to get in touch at: flints234@btinternet.com
or by phone: 01437 890632.

Please get in touch for pictures, the web site will not allow anything of a decent size to be posted.

Interesting choice Phil.  I for one would like to know a rough idea of what it looks like, and your expected price range?  Is it also a fair assumption that you are using two of the so-called "Powermaster HQ7P" motors for this model?
I've downloaded this pic from the web to see if this site is working ok for pictures.

All the best,
Tim
