LiPo Batteries

Looking for batteries for the 517 tank engine, there seem to be many more LiPo batteries available more compact, and less cost than the Ni- Hl we are using at the moment.
Has anyone had experience with this technology?

I would *not* recommend using Lithium Ion / Polymer batteries... Stick to NiMH. The Lithium batteries have a cliff edge voltage. Unless your ESC is specifically designed to monitor this then once the battery voltage falls below this voltage - they are junk.

Dimension Engineering do a device called Lipo Sheild. This will enable a std ESC to use Lipo cells without damaging them. It is expensive...

But it will save you the cost of new Lipo packs!
