Seems like a number of Kingscale steamers are being dismantled

See seller's other items for Streamlined Duchess, 14xx, Brit, 2-6-4T and A4
Maybe the seller is planning conversion of the locos to electric power?

IanT

Maybe he's just plain stupid?    ::)

Nothing's ever Easy - At least the first time around.

careful Ian, he is a member.  Though personally I'd have converted one engine to see how it went, rather than strip apart all of them!

Mike

yes he is electrifying his steam loco's!

IanT

Everyone to their own Mike but this still seems a great pity to me.

But then these days, people are converting just about everything (including vintage cars) to battery power, so maybe it's not so different.

if kingscale buy the parts, at least they will have a few spares otherwise not available from them !

When I spoke with James at the Dunfermline GTG he did state that he was going to convert his steam locos to electric.

I have bought one of his NOS Duchess locos and I am saving up for The Coronation Scot "Queen Mary" that he has for sale.
