Thank you both for the above. John has sent through the article already, so in conjunction with the impending arrival of the revised drawings, I think I'm in a good place to start the accumulation of the other bits and pieces required.

AnD / Dennis Tilman has not received a mention on G3F for a very long time.

Does anyone have news of what (if any) G3 products are available from him?

I am compiling a comprehensive list of all kits and RTR items currently available to place on G3MS.

I have all the "usual suspects" (i.e. Brandbright, GRS, Williams Models, WMI) also have included "Kingscale" and Peter Wood's Wagons.

Can anyone suggest other sources (locos., carriages, wagons) excluding those who work to "special order" or take "commissions"?

Anyone know what is happening with Slaters......the MR covered wagon (van) seems to be a long time coming!!

Regards,
John.

You could add Richard Thompson and (soon) Andy Boothman.

I don't understand the delay from Slaters, but they are gradually actually making the various fittings, so I know its making progress.

Mike,

I already have Richard's Ruston 48DS on the loco list and will add his two(?) wagon kits the GWR dia. N? LOCO coal wagon and NER iron hopper.

Andy's Midland van can be added when it becomes available.

For all the "minor" suppliers who don't have a website, I will need to add some contact details to the products list (no point in listing items if nobody knows where to purchase them!).

Regards,
John.

Dont forget the Adams Radial tank. Hopefully this year it will be released.

Mark,

I hadn't forgotten!
It is on the "under development" sub-list along with several other kits.
The aim is to update the lists when notified of new products.

The aim is to provide details of all available items in various categories, so that G3 is not so much of an apparent "mystery" to outsiders!

Regards,
John.

Not long now!! ....provided that the casting suppliers deliver on time.

John  - are you planning to put contact details (e.g email address) in some sort of anti-spam format - either as a graphic or a 'send mail' button?  Our spam filter does a pretty good job as it is, but I wouldn't want its load to get any higher.

Andy

Andy,

The lists will be in downloadable PDF format rather than as webpages so will the links will not be directly "clickable".

Any suppliers without their own website will need to consider whether they wish to have a page on one of the G3 sites in order to make available photos and details of their products.

John.

There are a number of suppliers of scenic accessories.  Pat Maslin specialises in 1/2in scale dolls house things, but she doesn't have a web site.  Others do.

And some of the 16mm lineside things may be suitable, but the trouble there is finding what scale they really are, as 16mm seems to be a bit fluid.

Did any of you chaps finish your L&Y horse boxes?

Jon

MikeWilliams

Embarrassed to admit that I have not.  But I look at it from time to time and would like to have a go at it.

Do you have a copy of the revised drawing that I could 'look' at, please?  I have the 'kit' and the article but a revised drawing may be helpful.  In the article, Barry states that the early boxes only had a hand brake and I would like to see that too as it would be much easier to build without all of that brake rigging etc.  Anyone have a one? :)

Jon

MikeWilliams

Jon,

The original kit included instructions and sketches.  The revised one had an explanatory letter and that is all.  I assume the drawings included with the original were still valid as the changes were fairly small.

I have photos of Barry's own (7mm I think) model if that helps, but it is vac fitted.  I would also be happy to ask Barry whether I could give you his contact details if that helps you, especially as he is a G3S member.

By the way - does anyone know whether G3S membership lists are sent out to (or available to) members?  They used to be sent to new members, but is this still the case, and do older members ever get issued with new ones?

Mike,
I don't believe we have anything formally in place to receive an updated list - but a request to the Mem Sec has always got me an up-to-date electronic copy in the past.

Brilliant, thanks Andy.  I asked twice, but clearly I had asked the wrong person!
