From Lacy Scott and Knight auction on 17th August:

Scratch built 2½ inch gauge 4-4-2 Atlantic locomotive and tender GNR for coal firing with usual backhead fittings, reversing lever, regulator, manometer, sight glass and blowdown valve, with injector, boiler appears unfired and untested, tender with hard water pump and sprung axles, no brakes, painted and lined out GNR green and presented in plastic covered display case

Estimate: £800 - £1,000

Suggest usual caution - no boiler certificate etc.  Looks a bit freelance in places.

David White has told me that the Loco is a JR, Atlantic designed by Henry Greenly to be constructed from Gauge 3, Jackson Rigby standard parts. Probably sold through Bonds either as a kit of parts on a staged supply basis or complete. There was also a JR Pacific of the same stretched design.

An Atlantic version sold recently by TSM and the late Ray Wallis ran one regularly at GTGs.
