Trying to compile a complete list of all "commercial" G3 engines ever made (including Vintage) would be a difficult task Mike. The information available on older engines is often scant (just a loco type & brand) - with few good images to match. We do have members who are expert collectors in this area but on grounds of both cost and rarity - I don't think this would have much utility to most people considering G3.

What might be of more use would be a listing of more recent G3 kits & RTR locomotives - where the information (including an image) should be much more readily available - being within (our) living memory. This could form a useful guide to what might be avaialable either new or secondhand to newcomers - without moving into the area of antiquities...

The Associations list of designs is useful but of course includes many N/G locos that are not G3 (which by definition is 'standard' guage).

So (as usual) it's a nice idea but still needs somebody (or bodies) to make it happen.

Regards,

IanT

...like a short piece on each of the Kingscale/Pavie designs of live steamer, for instance, with owners encouraged to submit a few words on pros, cons, performance, appearance, accuracy, worthwhile mods, new price, together with some definitive photos to help identification?

Over to those who run them....

The basis for a comprehensive listing of available locos, rolling stock, etc. exists at

http://gauge3.info/wiki/index.php?n=AcquiringLocomotivesAndRollingStock.AcquiringLocomotivesAndRollingStock

There are many reviews of kits available (written by both myself and others) and images can easily be attached to the entries.

Just needs someone to co-ordinate the process....any volunteers editors?

John.

Tagging the known plans and locos to the main index is no real problem -finding examples of them however... I an taking a break from one literature project - I am not alone in this... I can quite easily do this. All I need are pictures!
