This chassis for a Pacific is described as 2 inch gauge but the driving wheels would be approx a scale 6 ft 9 ins in G3 (stated as 3 9/16ins dia) which makes me suspect it is 2 1/2 inch gauge. It has double slide bars with Walschaerts gear which suggest it would be of LMS origin if based on a British prototype but the front end is wrong shape for a Princess or Coronation (Duchess) class, so may be a "Colonial" or a freelance type.

The current price is very low and there are a lot of bits for your money .... in fact the frames, trailing truck, etc. for a second loco.

Here's another https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-1-2-INCH-ATLANTIC-LOCO-not-working/113221050960?hash=item1a5c802250:g:E1YAAOSwOMtbcDt9]'What is it?'
My first thought was LBSC's 'Ayesha', but the frames are the wrong shape.
Possibly a Bonds / H Greenly pre-war Atlantic?

Quote2 cylinder version of an LNER A3? - similar one here: https://www.stationroadsteam.com/part-dismantled-2-12-inch-gauge-pacific-stock-code-3376/

Yes, it does look to be similar to that loco.
It stretches the imagination to refer to it as "Flying Scotsman" ..... incorrect crosshead pattern and wrongly shaped running plate!

John.

P.S. After closer examination, I am wondering whether it is a "Photoshopped" spoof.

I think the Pacific is a bit of a hotch potch. The frames suggest an A1 or A3 but, as John says, the slidebars are wrong and also the expansion link brackets are wrong. I'm sure that it will be 2½" gauge, not 2.
It's been built with Bonds castings and may well have been based on their GNR Pacific. The expansion link brackets however are the type used on the Bonds British Pacific, British Atlantic and American Pacific.
Looks interesting. I might have a punt on that!

Is this it perhaps?

I don't think so.... the cylinders, valve gear and running plate are different.

It does beg the question, what precisely is it?
At first glance i thought it was one of Vincent Raven's NER Pacifics (named after cities) but the cab is of the Ivatt GNR type, the trailing truck and the running plate are different and the number (4621) doesn't match the series.

It could be an experimental rebuild of one of the Raven locos. but I haven't been able to find any details.

The only Raven Pacific I have found being rebuilt was No.2404, fitted with an A1 class (Flying Scotsman type) boiler in 1929 but the photo I have seen doesn.t look anything like 4621.

John.

P.S. After closer examination, I am thinking it is a "Photoshopped" spoof (a manipulated C1 Atlantic), the false number 4621 tends to reinforce my supposition (i.e. Pacific No 1).
