Your pic of the motorised chassis shows a neat motor/gearbox assembly which could find applications in many models of the smaller prototypes.  Could I ask for details?

There is a precident for having two Terriers on GWR Territory. Those of the Weston Cleveland and Portishead and Railway. No 2 Portishead and No 4 (No 6 in GWR livery).

No 2 (Formerly No 43 Gipsyhill) (Initially in LBSCR Black) was purchased by the GWR. painted in GWR livery and renumbered No 5. Working with No 6 (see below) it survived into the British Railways era and in 1948 moved to Taunton for shunting at Bridgewater docks. In 1950 she was transferred to Newton Abbot as shed pilot and later put into store at Swindon.

No 6 (Formerly No 53 Ashtead) Allocated to St Phillips Marsh for shunting and harbour duties, It was used (with former No 2) to shunt at Portishead power station and the US Army depot at Wapley Common (Yate). Used for lifting the rails on the WC&PR it went on to Nottingham and later Bristol, being scrapped in 1948.

Yes, I had even considered building a GRS kit as "Portishead" but after closure of the WC&P I think, from what I have read in the past, the two locos were mainly used as shunters at the Swindon Factory and on other specialised duties rather than in normal service.

The main problem (for me) is that they look so small alongside a standard GWR loco. almost as if modelled to a smaller scale and they do not look particularly attractive in GW green ..... look so much better in LBSC livery or lined Southern green.

P.S. Roger Salisbury has a GRS kit finished in GW green.

The name / number plates have arrived from Guildplates, they are excellent and completes the Terrier.

Hello Mike

How did you manage the paint job on the Terrier?  I can't think of a way of applying the two colours to the tanks and cab sides that would make it a decent job.  Also, the curved corners where the two colours meet, it all has me wondering, Mmm.
