An update on current "work in progress" on the wagon range.

Work has started on the patterns and moulds for LMS D1839, which is a 5-plank AVB-fitted open on a 10ft WB u/frame with corrugated steel ends (which, unusually for an LMS fitted wagon, did not have 8-shoe clasp brakes).
These wagons were built in 1933 and certainly lasted until the late 1960's (and probably beyond).
At this stage, although it remains to be confirmed, the intention is that it will be fitted onto a "Peter Wood" steel underframe.

On the agenda for early attention are :

LNWR D17 6-wheel brake van.
MR final design/ early LMS 20T brake van.
18ft Cylindrical Oil Tank, both cradle and saddle-mounted designs (the 18ft Flexikit u/frame skeleton was produced last year in readiness).
GCR 18ft 10Ton Fish Van.

Having spent several months working almost exclusively in the garden, attention is now reverting to "inside" jobs!

John.

My fellow Members, ask not what your Society can do for you, ask what you can do for your Society.
